Today we launch the Entomological Society of America Challenge Grant, a partnership between Entomological Society of America and Experiment.

The Entomological Society of America was founded in 1889. Their mission is to promote opportunities for entomologists and enable them to share their science globally. Experiment’s mission is to democratize the research process so anyone can do science.

This launch is an evolution of our first Insects Grant Challenge in 2016 where 653 Experiment backers crowdfunded $35,759 to fund ten insect research projects.

This year, the Entomological Society of America approved 6 research projects investigating invasive arthropods. To ensure eligibility and quality, projects are reviewed for clarity, scientific accuracy, and feasibility. On February 21st, The Entomological Society of America will award additional grants to the projects with the most backers.
