News clipping from The Pittsburgh Press

1977

By most accounts, Dorothy Stratten is a typical teenager who works at her local Dairy Queen and attends Centennial High School in Coquitlam, Canada.

One day, 26-year-old Paul Snider enters the store, and her life changes forever.

Snider works two jobs; as a prompter for automobile and cycling shows and as a pimp on the side.

His job as a promoter wasn’t paying the money he wanted to lead a glamorous lifestyle, so he turned to procuring girls on the side.

He’s flashy with his black Corvette and a mink coat.

Despite their age difference, Dorothy and Paul start dating.

Most of Dorothy’s loved ones disapprove of the relationship. They find Paul creepy and believe he’s a predator.
