Dear ones,
As a Latinamerican I can understand the fear of war, violence, not knowing what tomorrow can bring. My day-to-day news is all about how people trying to make a change in my country get murdered, how an internal war is killing innocent people every day.

But I’m sure I don’t understand the deep level of pain beautiful Ukrainian people are going through right now. Life has brought me the immense gift of finding dear Ukrainian friends, people who I admire and love so much, that have shared with me how rich, strong, and deep their culture is. I’m amazed by their bravery and their humbleness. It breaks my heart to see artists who I admire, leaving everything behind to fight for their land and their people, quite literally: they’re enlisting in the army. to see them not with their instruments to create art but with weapons to fight an irrational, unprovoked, stupid war.

If we’re not flying there to volunteer, the very least we can do is act locally, even if we’re far away, even if we feel our small actions are meaningless. They’re not. Whatever comes from your heart with love, means so much. We’re going through a lot in the world, let’s try to help each other while we’re still here, let’s give our best here and now. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

  • If you don’t feel like donating to huge organizations, I’m sharing now the Paypal profile some friends created for Alika. She’s a beautiful human that has created awareness about Latin America and its beauty, and now is going through so much pain, she is pretty much at the border with Poland but doesn’t want to leave the country so she can keep helping her mom and grandma, who won’t leave Ukraine. I’ve found it so important to support her: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/donacionesAlika
