If you had asked me before my time in Valencia what I expected to get out of it, I would have said improved design skills and new friends. What I got was so much more. In four weeks, I walked 200 miles over sand, rock and tile and experienced the indescribable beauty this place has to offer. I tried new foods, including snails and paella; I marveled at architecture and artwork that brought me to tears; and I even met someone with whom I connected in ways I hadn’t experienced. Integrating Spain’s national flower, the pomegranate bloom, I have illustrated key moments of my journey through this vibrant city.
