Seek First His Kingdom
Word Wednesday
Perhaps a variation on last week’s theme, but this week it’s all about seeking His kingdom.
Living in the way of the world it can be easy to get caught up in metrics like how many ounces of water you’re drinking, how much money you’re making, how many career moves you’ve made, what’s your weight, food inventory … I’ve seen so many people on social media tracking sometimes a full 180 pages worth of things — seeking success, happiness, health in all these numbers and measurements.
We can take a collective sigh of relief and let those go my dear Christian brothers and sisters, for we have a much easier to track focus — God’s Kingdom.
Let’s strive with eternity in mind my friends, not for the next check mark or color in box on a page overloaded with even “good things”. For even good things can lead us astray when they take our focus off of Jesus and our mission here on earth.
I hope this passage encourages you this week!
Comment below and let me know, are you a habit tracker addict? Are you open to setting the trackers aside, even for a short period, while you just intentionally seek Jesus, read your Bible, and pray?
I find reading Proverbs to be a great exercise when I’ve lost myself to tracking human metrics.
I pray you have a calm, blessed week my fellow Light Keepers!
