God is real.
Love is real.
The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite. — A Course in Miracles
When we are operating from fear, it’s not so much the opposite of love or trust in God, but rather a misplacement of ourselves outside of God.
Fear is not of God or from God. Fear does not exist inside God.
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1 John 4:18, NIV)
He tells us to choose faith (trust) or fear. One cancels the other — they cannot co-exist. You cannot say you are walking with God and his peace while taking action from the position of fear.
Nothing real can be threatened. Take comfort in this.
If your God, your faith, your religion, your freedom is being threatened, then it’s not real. It’s a man-made construct.
