What Does Your Online Restaurant Experience Say About You?
Giving equal importance to food presentation and digital presentation can lead to big returns for restaurants.
With the emergence of different dietary trends and the accommodations for various restrictions, the way consumers and restauranteurs experience food is changing.
Furthermore, diversity is no longer just an office term. It’s something we are celebrating in all facets and food is no exception.
With that said, this opens more opportunities for restaurants to define and differentiate themselves in the market and the palates of their customers.
Here are a few things restaurants can do to reach and connect with people who would be interested in them:
Provide an Experience
Restauranteurs put a lot of effort into ensuring their customers enjoy a great experience once they get there.
But, what about before they arrive?
There’s a good chance your new customers found you online first.
How does your website look?
How does your brand make people feel when they come across it for the first time?
Is your restaurant’s digital experience equivalent to the experience you provide on-location?
You may be losing out on potential customers who do not feel they can connect with you digitally and therefore won’t bother trying to connect with your restaurant in real life.
A stunning example of this is Maaemo, a restaurant in Norway. The breathtaking visuals, the seamlessness between each page, and the content they share make me wonder if they care that much about their website, then I have to see how much they care about their food.
Share Content
There is a way to share your passion with the world without giving away your secrets.
Using social media and your website, showcase some of your dishes and the process behind their creations. This makes the customer feel like they are part of the experience so that when they order it, they will enjoy it probably even more!
How many times have you craved a dish after seeing it? Humans are visual beings, don’t be afraid to use pictures and videos to expose customers to your uniqueness.
A great example of this is The Plough in the United Kingdom. The beautiful pictures and descriptions transport you to a place that is out of this world.
Presentation is key when giving customers a great restaurant experience. Therefore, your digital presentation is just as important as it builds excitement before they even come through the door.
