This is the first in a series of articles from Stratum that will concentrate on the beauty of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera.
The Port of Pollença provides a tranquil setting for thousands of holidaymakers every year. With its ever-growing presence, demand is at its height in the months of June, July and August; and, as such you can expect to pay a premium for any accommodation.
Pollença is home to a wonderful yacht club, fantastic restaurants and a somewhat famous ‘Pine Walk’.
The bliss of Pollença is quite potentially the wonderful bays that are within a stones throw of the area; it can provide a fantastic base to explore the dramatic North-Eastern corner of Mallorca.
When it comes to hotels, we’ve three of the best.
Hotel Illa d’Or £££££
Arguably the most luxurious hotel in the North of Mallorca, the Illa d’Or plays host to a range of celebrities each year — it really is the Ritz of PP. With marbled archways and views of the bay, a night at the Illy may set you back, but it’ll be undoubtedly be memorable.
MarSenses ££££
A recently renovated ‘main stream’ option for those who may want a more chilled experience, MarSenses brings together the typcial holiday setting with a touch of luxury. Just a few minutes from the Pine Walk, it can be a perfect base for exploring the delights the Pollença has to offer.
Hotel Eolo £££
Eolo, perhaps locally famous for it’s pizza-hatch on street level, is in PRIME position. Overlooking the yacht club, you’re less than a minute away from every service you could ever wish for. For sure, Eolo provides a budget option — but we think the rooftop views make up for any shortcomings you may find here!
The nightlife in P.P is quite refined, considering you’ve the ‘resort’ of Magaluf only a 45 minute drive away. There are a series of relaxed bars scattered along the Pine Walk and Main Square, but there’s a few real gems:

Created in 2019, the 360 Bar located just off of the Reial Club Nàutic Port de Pollença pool area, it provides the perfect evening spot — with great cocktails and amazing staff, it’s a small but impressive bar that is picture perfect.
La Terrassa ££££
The bar at the ‘Illy’ is the epitome of the sundowner bar, attached to the bar is a jetty, this means it becomes a hotspot at around 6pm every evening, a chilled relaxed cocktail is what most of the yacht owners opt for after a long day on the water.
Cappuccino £££
Recognise this place from Ibiza? You’re not mistaken, whether it’s a coffee you’re after or, a Daquiri — Cappunccino is the destination. With beachfront seats, this bar offers up a wonderful experience, re
When looking for a place to eat, PP covers every base — and with Stratum’s selection, we guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
Abbaco ££
A new an exciting fusion, it sums up the town — young but refined. The dishes are somewhat adventurous with touches of Japanese influence on the traditional Majorcian ways. Expect to be fulfilled if you choose to spend you’re evening here — it’s often worth making a reservation, just so that you’re sure to get the terraced seating.
La L’longa ££££
La L’longa, is another one of those ‘special’ places in Pollença. Everyone knows this as the best seafood restaurant in town — you can expect the local service, relaxed… But, don’t be perturbed, the ambience allows for a relaxed evening; just make sure you allow for a few hours to be spent there.
Stay ££££
Stay, located just off of the Pine Walk, adjacent to the ‘locals marina’ — is arguably the best restaurant in Pollença. The price is reflective of that, but there are set menus that rotate weekly and offered at both Lunch & Dinner that make it an affordable night to remember.
