This week I had the privilege of interviewing Eliot Brown, co-author of one of the best business books I’ve read, profiling the rise and fall of WeWork and its founder and CEO Adam Neumann. “The Cult of We” unearths some jaw-dropping tales of excess, but it also puts the story of WeWork in the context of the times.

As we discussed, the confluence of low interest rates, founder worship, and perhaps a bit of cultural fascination with startups all served to make this story possible.
