Thorgate: a torch-bearer in empowering the Python Community in the Nordics!
Powered by Thorgate, NGO Python Estonia organized PyCon Estonia 2019 which is the largest Python conference in Northern Europe aiming to educate people about Python programming language.
This year, over 250 developers, innovators, CTO-s and investors gathered to discuss the ‘Future of Python’. Participants got the opportunity to explore the future, discuss impact and network with and learn from engaging speakers, industry experts and entrepreneurs.
There were guests from the United States, Germany, Denmark, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Latvia, Finland, Norway, Sweden, and Estonia. The diverse audience from different countries and industries, united by the passion for Python, included the cybersecurity command from the Estonian Defence Forces.
A number of renowned speakers from around the world joined PyCon in Tallinn, including Quansight founder and NumPy creator Travis Oliphant, and Czech product marketer and cybersecurity expert Lukáš Hurych!
Topics of discussion ranged from hacking and social engineering to contemporary documentation, giving the audience a peek into the Future of Python. Speakers demonstrated how Python is currently the most popular programming language in the world, with the best use cases. Networking was an important part of the event, and the community discussed the next steps to empower Python programmers including scaling up initiatives like Python Code Club internationally, as well as, organizing a bigger and better PyCon Estonia 2020!
