3. What controllers/input devices do you recommend for navigation, or have people tested other than standard mice.
The Thortspace App has versions for Windows, Linux, Mac, iOS and Android, and a read-only Web app, which works on anything that WebGL works on. My expectation is that most standard input devices that control a screen pointer will work equivalently — according to your own tastes, but this comes with no guarantees.
An advantage of providing a free App is you can try it first and make sure it works ok for you, before taking it further with the cloud service (as described in articles linked above).
If you’re using a mouse, it’s particularly useful to have a scroll wheel.
Also it typically works well with touchscreens… for example, I use a Dell Windows 10 touchscreen in combination with using a mouse.
But, the iOS and Android versions are naturally touchscreen first type of devices.
