Dear Thortspace Support,
I am currently testing Thortspace and I see there is no support for oriental languages like Chinese (whether Traditional or Simplified), Japanese or Vietnamese (especially the specific diacritics like in “Phở”). Is there a plan to support it in a near future?

Thank you for being in touch.

You can create and edit spheres in Thortspace using your web browser on most desktop and mobile devices without needing to install any App. Just go to https://thort.space

You can use any language at all when entering text, as long as you stick to using the Web Browser version of Thortspace which is here:

https://thort.space/

The Web Browser version of Thortspace does not as yet have the full functionality as the Thortspace App, however you can edit the text of Thorts and move thorts between groups and add and delete thorts.

By the way, the Thortspace web browser version can be embedded into Medium articles … as below.

https://thort.space/609227050/for/group/47/up/-0.002352,0.999997,0.000338/zoom/49.00214

Try the following:

(1) Go to https://thort.space

(2) Sign in or register an account

https://thort.space - Sign in or register an account

(3) Click on “Create Your Own”

(4) Enter the name you want to give to your sphere. (You can use the characters of any language in the name of the sphere as well as thorts on the sphere ! )

(5) The Web Browser version of Thortspace supports the characters and symbols of every major language in the world.

(6) Click the “Edit” button to start editing.

(7) Once you have clicked the “Edit” button, you will see this tool bar:

(8) When you are editing your sphere, if you put the mouse pointer inside a group, a new shadow thort will appear. If you click when you see the shadow thort, you will add a thort to the group.

(9) New thorts that you create in this way can be dragged into their own groups.

(10) While you are editing, if you click on a thort, a text entry box will appear to edit the text of the thort. The appearance and location of the text entry box will depend on the Web Browser you are using. In some browsers it is at the bottom of the Web Browser window.

(11) Click “Ok” and the text you have entered will now appear on the thort you clicked on.

NB. URL links (links to websites and webpages) can be added to thorts by clicking the link button (which is next to the text button) and then clicking on a thort.

(12) Click the “Save” button to finish editing and save your changes to the sphere.

(13) Your saved sphere will now appear on your “My Spheres” list.

(14) You can change the name of your sphere (or delete it) by clicking the sphere “Info” button.

(15) When you have finished editing the sphere name, click the tick button by the sphere name. Then click the corner cross to close the dialog box.
