Don’t start!
It’s going to be tough. That new new thing you’ve just started. That new new thing you’re thinking about starting.
At one point you’ll hit a huge roadblock. Many roadblocks as a matter of fact. Sooner rather than later.
And if you’re already spreading yourself too thin, if you’ve already a super busy schedule, if you can’t put in the work or the energy to survive the tough times, then you might as well not even start at all.
I get these messages all the time. People asking me for advice and then telling me that they just don’t have time for that. That they’re just too busy for this. And can’t put in more energy.
I get it. But then again, I don’t get it…
Because what’s going to happen when you start something new that doesn’t work out, and trust me it won’t work out for a long, long time, is that you’ll get frustrated. And unhappy.
And then that frustration and feeling of unhappiness will spread like a disease all over your face, yourself, your relationships and all the other things you’re currently doing and working on.
It will affect your performance in every area of your life. It will also affect the job that pays your bills.
So if you’re already spreading yourself too thin, if you only want to enjoy the ups, but don’t have the energy or the time to survive the downs, then you might as well not even start. Or stop right now.
Change can and always will succeed from a position of power. Of inner strength. And energy. And not from a position of inner weakness…
