The freedom fund.

Or why you’ll never be free…

You’ll never be free because you use your money to buy yourself stuff you don’t really need just to reward yourself for doing things you don’t really enjoy that much, instead of using it to buy yourself some freedom.

Maybe you’ve worked on a really, really tough project with a really shitty client, made a few months worth of expenses and feel like you deserve something nice.

Like a new camera.

Or that new TV.

Maybe you’ve just been promoted and feel like you can now finally enjoy a nice vacation.

Or maybe you just got a new job that pays a lot more than your past job and you can finally move into that bigger apartment.

Those are all great things and valid options.

But what if instead of spending it you started a “freedom fund”?

A fund with the only purpose of buying yourself some freedom some time in the future.

A fund that once it’s big enough you can buy yourself some time.

Some time to work a few months or maybe even years on that side business of yours.

Or that passion project.

Or learn that new skill that you need to become completely independent.

Like marketing. Or sales. Or copy writing. Or public speaking.

Or all of them.

And whenever you wonder why you’re even doing all of this, why you’re even getting up in the morning when you don’t want to get up anymore, you have an answer.

You’re doing it for your freedom fund.

For your freedom.

So you can buy yourself some freedom some time in the future.

So you can buy yourself some time.

Some time to do the things you always wanted to do.

That’s what got me started four years ago.

A fund big enough to cover at least 1–2 years of expenses.

Maybe even more.

Or you just keep spending all that money and keep doing what you’ve already been doing for the past few years.

So you can keep doing it for the next couple of years.

Or maybe even decades…

P.S. I also recorded a video. You can check it out over at Coffee (Coffee or Tea) with Yann
