Why pay for this?

You don’t have to pay for this. Or that. As a matter of fact you can get almost everything online for free. And you don’t have to pay for any of this. Or that.
And that’s totally fine as long as you’re ok being the product or part of the product, instead of the customer.
As a customer you’ll be treated like a customer. You’ll be treated like a king. At least most of the time.
As the product or part of the product on the other hand, you’ll be treated like a product.
So keep that in mind next time you ask yourself whether or not to pay for this.
Keep in mind that you’re very likely just the product and not the customer when you decide to not pay for this. Or whenever you use a free service.
Just like you’re part of the product Facebook is offering to brands and marketers.
Just like you’re part of the product Medium will or is already offering to brands and publishers..
