Flooding the zone, November 30th, 2024

Post the November 5th, 2024 election, it didn’t take Donald Trump long to execute his plan to dismantle U.S. Democracy. By November 30th, a little over three weeks after the election, Trump had (amongst other actions):

• Appointed shoe-licking sycophant Kash Patel as Director of the FBI (now confirmed in a 51–49 vote),
• Pledged to impose 25% tariffs on the U.S.’s most important trading partners, Canada and Mexico, as well as 10% tariffs on China,
• Issued an executive order aiming to end birthright citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants, upending the 14th amendment ratified in 1868.

As you know, this was just the first act warmup, with Musk’s D.O.G.E. antics covering for Trump to systematically chip away at the rule of law. In Trump’s opening gambit, he moved his pawn forward two places in implementing his “flood the zone” strategy…
