The air of the desert I once belonged to was dry,
But the rain of this new land is different, under the same sky.
I came here to start anew and to keep my spirits high,
But every passing day reminds me to put in more effort, despite how much I try.

I left my closest pieces in those dry lands,
Change is needed, the future in my hands.
Precious memories slip down my mind like sand,
Yet I keep looking forward, and stand my ground.

Towards another journey, with the storm brewing,
With humble beginnings, my past stitching and the wounds sewing.
Testing the new waters, life that is renewing,
It is time for dawn, the sky a lighter hueing.

In this unfamiliar terrain, I'll make my mark,
Though the path is winding, and sometimes feels stark.
With courage as my compass, I'll embark,
On a voyage towards tomorrow, where dreams embark.

The past may whisper, but the future calls,
Through challenges and trials, I'll break down walls.
For with each sunrise, a new hope installs,
In the symphony of life, where destiny enthralls.

So let the desert winds whisper in the night,
As I journey forward with all my might.
In the tapestry of time, I’ll weave my light,
As I flow towards tomorrow, through day and night.

P.S. — Did anyone notice what I did there?

Well, I basically mixed up two of my previously published poems and changed the paragraphs to the draft versions of them. The published ones are edited.

I’ll leave it up to you guys to guess which 2 poems I did a mash-up of.
