There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as everyone is different and has different needs when it comes to being productive after work. However, there are a few general tips that can help you get started.

First, take a break. Once you’re done with work for the day, give yourself some time to relax and recharge. Whether that means taking a walk, reading a book, or just sitting in silence for a few minutes, taking some time for yourself will help you feel refreshed and ready to tackle whatever else needs to be done.

  • Somedays after work, you might be so exhausted that taking a break is all you should do. Please don’t make yourself feel guilty about it!
  • In order for you to be productive after anything, you need to make sure your brain has taken the space to rest, process and retain all the info you have taken in for the day.
  • You need the energy to work after your job, so eat. Your health needs to let you be efficient, not be the reason your work slows down.

Then, write down your tasks. Having a clear list of what needs to be done can help you focus and plan your time more effectively.

  • Never try to mentally remember what you have to do. Write down all the small things you have to do, like take out trash, change the lightbulb, contact the doctor etc etc. All the small errands you have to run, no matter how minor, don’t rely on your memory for it unless you have the ability to perfectly recall and remember!

Then, you need to find a way to track this progress to feel accomplished. Motivation, drive and keeping the energy up and flowing is important to maintain if you want to be productive after work. Make sure that if the day is harsh and tough, don’t do anything after work, just relax and sleep well. This is to make sure you don’t burnout!! Your health, what you eat, how much you exercise your body and mind and your sleep schedules are VERY important!!! Burnouts are something you really need to avoid, and another thing is unnecessary pressure that might start to take a toll on you.

To avoid this: Employ mindfulness and self-awareness by either writing in a journal/gratitude journal or by just reminiscing on how your day was. This will remind you of how you behaved throughout the day, what things you went through and will help you check on yourself whether or not you are exhausted and worn-out. And then to examine and see what your work ethic would be after work!

Being productive is all about finding ways where you can maintain a healthy balance in your life where you try your best to be efficient and also checking on how you are doing emotionally/mentally so that you can keep the ball rolling!!!
