In the Wake of Election Grief

The United States proved earlier this month to be more red than blue. Medium, however, has always leaned more to the left. Sure, some of you out there are Republicans, and many aren’t even in the Americas at all. However, it’s safe to assume most of my readers are Dems or left-leaning. We’ve been through a lot this year, haven’t we?

Like many Americans, I went into a deep depressing grief after the election. We were told it was a close race, and yet Trump won by more than two and a half million votes. What is this world? How could this happen? Before the results were called, it was clear Kamala was not going to win. Nor Democracy. A shadow was cast upon the world that night, darkening the skies and shutting out the moon and stars.

“Those who live in shadows are surrounded by demons.”

I don’t want to live in a world like this…

No, I wasn’t suicidal. Just wishing for a world that wasn’t. These past weeks, I’ve been licking my wounds the same as everyone else. The shadow cast by the election has darkened the sun in my world, forcing me to re-examine my perspective of reality. Through a curated playlist, I found solace and hope. Reading Natalie’s election article, I found myself seeing from a new angle.

I am weird, spiritual, and deep. Accidentally monstrous at times, but usually with good intentions. https://linktr.ee/theaccidentalmonster
