My Date With Sleep
You turn from an angel to a devil
Oh! dear sleep
You have always been my angel
Where I could refresh my mind and rejuvenate my body
All my troubles are gone after the date with you
It used to be so easy to fall into your arms
Where I would meet you instantly after falling into bed
And go to my sweet dream
You have always been my ally
Even during the downs in life
It was always the sweetest day after my date with you
But since when did you turn your back on me?
You refused to date me when I wanted to
You refuse to let me fall into your arms
For me to refresh my body, mind, and soul
When comes to our date time nowadays
I feel anxious and concern
You always come late
Or never turn up for our date
It makes me dreadful about our daily date
At times you were as sweet as before
Where I could have a good sleep
But most times you were nasty and āfly-planeā**
Left me alone waiting for you to turn up
In the night and darkest room
With my eyes wide open and my body rolling all over the bed
I have tried all methods to lure you out
Darkroom, cool temperature, soft music
milk, mild exercise, etc, whatever you name it
But at times you still refuse to come to meet me
Oh my dear sleep, please tell me what can I do to meet you daily
I do not want to take sleeping pills to lure you out
I miss you dearly.
