“But it is a sort of April-weather life that we lead in this world. A little sunshine is generally the prelude to a storm.”- William Cowper

’Tis the end of March, and I thank you all for your continued support of this publication. I have not posted as much lately because I have been working on a few writing projects, but I hope to be more involved in April. High-quality posts dominated March. Here are three of my favorites:

This article raises a concern about opinions. Opinions can be devastating in intentional and unintentional ways. This article introduces thoughts to consider when considering or giving an opinion.

“What a boring world it would be if we all thought similar things. How bland, without flavor, color, light or shade.

People should be considerate when offering thoughts but also balance that with the need to be truthful.

This article reads like an ode to my drafts folder; in an insightful and profound way. I adore conversational writing. I feel that it is the best way to connect with the reader.

“I don’t care how complicated it sounds — do what it takes to get me written.

Imagine your drafts reaching out to you to help them. Thank you to the author for writing this.

It is pure happenstance that my final selection also deals with writing draft, albeit from a different view.

“Now, I start thinking — Oh! this has already been written about, and I drop the idea of writing about it.

This article felt vibrant. The author is relatable in her dilemmas and solutions. Be sure to give it a read.

Well, until next time, stay vigilant, find peace, and take care.- Gideon 6ix

Ben here!

Welp! It’s the beginning of another month on Medium — which means it’s time for another newsletter. Additionally, and on a more personal note, April marks the beginning of my second year on Medium! I’m excited to still be here on the platform and thankful for the opportunity to connect with all of the writers on Three Minute Thoughts!

So without further ado, here are some of my favorite pieces shared to the publication in the month of March.

This piece is written by Anu Maarit Simard, one of our new contributors to the publication. She offers a well-written and informative look into our physiology and the benefits of understanding ourselves, emotions and sensations. She also delves into some of the benefits of breath-work and aromatherapy.

For awhile now, John Barr has been sharing his insightful reflections on writing and the poetic process. His love for the language and for his craft is more than evident in his writing. I think that just about anyone looking to explore poetry could find value in this series of his.

This piece is written by my good friend Alec Zarenkiewicz, as he reflects not only on moving halfway across the world, but about life on this crazy planet. It provides a really honest look into some of the changes that we’ve experienced as a species since the onset of the Covid pandemic.

With all that said, thanks again to everyone for being a part of Three Minute Thoughts! With an ever-growing list of new writers and the amazing contributors that we’ve amassed already, the future of Three Minute Thoughts is looking bright.
