The numbers of people trooping into various niches, fields and industries keep increasing on a daily basis — some more than the others.

As a writer, It’s easy to throw in the towel when the niche you are passionate about is saturated and competitive. What difference would you make anyway? How would you stand out in that kind of space?

The simple truth is, no two humans are the same. Our experience, perception, creativity and other qualities set us apart.

There will always be a uniqueness that every individual brings to a saturated niche.

There are thousands of YouTube channels, but every YouTuber is unique, which is why you prefer one above the others.

Your writing style, sense of humor, perspective, experience — all of these contributes to your make-up as an individual.

Even with this, how else do you stand out?

1. Learn basic in demand skills

Taking a step further to learn some essential skill set and keeping up with trends in your niche will set you apart and highly sought after.

Here are a few skillset you need as a content writer:

  • A Solid Understanding of SEO
  • Strong Research skills
  • Editing skills, e.t.c

2. Employ Emotive Writing
Writing from your Heart keeps you in touch with your readers and helps them connect with you on a personal level.

Keep in mind that your audience are humans, not robots. They can feel, see and hear the emotions you project in your work.

Your readers have questions that needs answers. They want to know the challenges you faced or are currently battling with, what you did and how you succeeded.

Infuse your personality into your writing, Invite them into your world and let your words proffer solutions.

3. Write From Your Experience:
It’s more convincing to write from a place you’ve been than some random bunch of advice you never followed yourself.

Write from a place you have been or are currently going through and you’d win the heart of your readers, maybe even be a source of help.

Walk them through your experience, your pain, limitations, victories and everything else that came with the package and leave them to make conclusions and pick the lessons that resonates with them.

4. Employ the art of storytelling

Everyone loves a good story. Learn the art of good storytelling. Irrespective of the race or culture, stories brings people together.

Observe how your favorite writers write captivating and compelling stories that capture their readers and leave them craving for more.

It is not going to be a walk-in-the park. However, with constant practice you’d be able to stand out in whatever industry you find yourself.

Keep working and cheers to your success!
