Why You Should Read Greek Myths (They’re Fascinating)

I have been enthralled by Greek mythology ever since I opened the pages of my first Percy Jackson novel. I’ve probably re-read that series 3 times and researched even more on my own.

The stuff is addictive. Not to mention so incredibly fascinating!

What Greek Mythology Is

They were written by the Ancient Greeks in Greece (obviously) around 900 BC. That was roughly 2900 years ago!

A Short Description

There are 12 major gods in Greek Mythology, called the Olympians. For example, Athena is the goddess of warfare and wisdom, a figure of strength, courage and wits. Each god has their specialty and domain of power.

Then there are thousands of minor gods, each representing things ranging from cheese to day and night. Demigods are the children of gods and mortals (humans), and many Greek myths revolve around them.
