Now and His Forever

To the waiting but lovesick, this is a gentle reminder.

Each time you open up, you get that sting inside.
A hint of wrong rings true beneath, oh dear you know why.
Please don’t, don’t choose to give away pieces of yourself.
Don’t settle for the temporary, the unsure that is eerie.

Just lie down, lie down in the arms of the King.
Take rest, choose stillness for He will keep your heart well.
He is sure of the path, the one that He has set for you.
Pieces will be puzzled together, things will fall into place.

It may hurt right now, you may long right now.
But keep that hope, darling. Keep that hope sparkling.
For the King knows your tears, He knows your fears.
Let your mind be made well. Let your might be spent well.

Smile, ride and laugh because you are made for so much more.
Born for and by love, you’re much more than dust and feelings.
Breathe awakened every second. Live free, love selflessly.
Give, for nothing is yours. This and all that you see has end.

You will see your reward, as you stride and strive.
You will know by then that you have had your price.
All the while, He has been your inheritance, He has been your satisfaction.
Nevertheless keep that hope and wait, fix your eyes up above.
For as you delight in the King, you are sure to receive more.

I was able to compose this when I was feeling really lovesick. Being a 20something single is not easy when the world’s telling you, even your Christian friends, that you’re missing a lot. There is a time for everything, I believe and I stand on that.

The Lord’s grace was just abounding, and always do, that His promises wrapped and enabled me to get through it —just every time. I hope if you’re in the same situation, this would just be encouraging to you too. ☺
