Most of us have good routines to look after our bodies. Full stop.

Nothing much for our minds. Why?

Here is a brilliant TED talk from Guy Winch worth a chat about. Literally with yourself.

My ten-year-old daughter already has a better vocabulary for the emotional and mental realms than I probably had ten years ago.

How and why did we grow up as a generation who prioritised our bodies disproportionately over our minds?

We would take a bruise from a nail for a preventive Tetanus injection; but would simmer over an emotional scar, trying to deal with it ourselves.

Why?

Social stigma. Would be the two-word answer.

There were no shades of gray for mental health. Either one was ok, or one was really mentally unwell. Being the latter possibly came with external brands and deep internal scars.
