When the world does not have a telegraph service … and when the person is not attending phone calls…

When the world does not have a telegram service … and human life depends more and more on cell phones and SMS’s there is something lost which was existing in the previous system.

We have moved the wake-up, alert and delivery acknowledgement responsibility of the message delivery to the receiver(client). That is, the successful delivery of the message falls into the responsibility of the receiver, that is a bit contradictory, because isn't that we are trying to wake-up the caller, this exposes the weakness of this new system.

In the telegraph system the system takes care of the reliability of the delivery end to end.

The interesting problem is ….do we have a system to alert and wake-up a receiver of a message.

In short, a service which can alert a person to say Pick up your phone”.

Most of the new systems have the same weakness i.e emails, SMS, Buffer box delivery etc…….the reliable delivery acknowledgement is removed from these systems.

These are interesting areas where technology can enter with new devices. Wearable devices might solve this to an extend, but the guy who rings the door bell and stops the party is the real missing piece.

Interesting story on what the Justin.TV founders did in this situation….
