Oil painting of the corpse flower or giant padma (Rafflesia arnoldii), the world’s largest flower. This rare flower grows in the rainforests of Sumatra and Borneo in Indonesia. It can grow to be 3 feet across and weigh up to 15 pounds! It is a parasitic plant, with no visible leaves, roots, or stem. When in bloom, it emits a repulsive odor, similar to that of rotting meat, which attracts insects that pollinate the plant.
