What it’s like to watch Mad Max in the very front row.
It’s amazing. A hyper-galactic orchestrated chaotic sequence of violence. To the Max.
The seat leans back in a wide obtuse angle. My eyes can hardly focus because I’m up close to the giant screen. I’m so close that pixels of dust and chrome are revealing the projector’s chromatic aberration flaws.
I literally didn’t know where to look on the screen. But that’s fine. The Director of Photography aimed to have the main character centered in the middle of the screen. That was nice.
If you think about the entire moving ensemble theme, the characters are floating on these islands. If you touch the ground (like lava) — you’re dead.
The sequence of shots between the heroes and villains were a blurred pile of graphic images. It’s super difficult to follow anything, especially if you’re sitting in a shallower range of the movie canvas.
But the most surprising thing was that I didn’t get a headache or feel like my eyes were going to burst. It was a cinematic experience that I could not stop. salivating.
Mad Max with Tom Hardy has been signed for 3 more movies.
