To the music communities of the internets,

I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately and for any non-believers in EDM and Dubstep I have a few misconceptions to dispel. I know there are plenty of people who love to hate on dubstep and more specifically Skrillex [which by the way makes brostep, not dubstep, but seriously]. All kinds of musicians and especially computer engineers revere Skrillex as a technical genius, ushering in a new era of music made entirely on computers. While the hipsters [and Mr. Huther] alike are so quick to tear down the works of Benny Bessai, Flight Facilities, Knife Party, La Roux, etc. fear not because music made with “real instruments” isn’t going anywhere. Also, being a big deadmau5 fan, I think that if Skrillex can do what he does without the use of any instruments or modular synthesis is incredible and takes a lot more than just “pressing a spacebar”. And if you’re one of those guys that thinks the dubstep market is highly over saturated and all sounds the same, you should understand there is a monumental difference between repetition and consistency, read a book.
