For the all bad things that can come from the Internet, it’s always good to hear something positive come out from it.

Yesterday, while Kanye West was trying to upload and re-upload his new song “Real Friends” on his Soundcloud account for his Good Music Fridays, 18-year-old Kansas, Missouri artist Rory Fresco got the unexpected benefit of a lifetime from Soundcloud. His song “Lowkey” became the song that played right after “Real Friends.” And because of this, Fresco’s song “Lowkey” has gone viral. “Lowkey” now has 211k plays and the track is still growing in number.

Rory told Pigeons&Planes via e-mail, “The song is now second in line after Kanye’s track, with a TDE mix taking over the directly next spot, but this big placement has already made an impact — ”Lowkey” currently has 158,000 plays, and the response to his song from new fans all over the world has been overwhelmingly positive.”

It’s fitting that “Lowkey” is the song that blew first for Rory, because it feels like a culmination. He tells us in no uncertain terms that he’s been working all his life, and that this year is his year. His words just might prove to be prophetic. Stream “Lowkey” below.
