When Does Safety Become Prejudice

Do I discriminate against young, male taxi drivers to protect myself? Is that ok?

I was on my way to a small gathering with my friend, a white woman in her sixties. It was around 6 pm and we looked to hail a taxi on the busy streets of Lima, Peru.

A taxi would pull up, I’d scout out their face, and make a snap decision. Is this person trustworthy?
