A pristine town at the edge of India

Circa 2013, I was at the edge of South India is a thin piece of land stretching towards Sri Lanka. The entire stretch would be about 10 kms. The last part of the stretch for about 3–4 kms don’t have proper roads paved. Rugged jeeps and vans take the travellers to the tip.

We decided to walk that long stretch and got to see the sea on either side. On one side, the sea was noisy and wavy. And on the other side, it was still and silent.

Noisy side
Still side

And when you walked all the way to the tip, you could see them meet!

And they meet, alas!

Apparently, during evening time one would be able to see the lights lit up in Sri Lanka from here.

With pristine shores and welcoming waters, this place shouldn’t be missed.

PS: Going to Dhanuskodi is a breathtaking trip as well. If you are going there by train, the ride on the Pamban bridge is exhilarating.
