Secluded and serene, Gangapur is definitely a nature lover’s hotspot.

Gangapur lake painted orange by the sunset

Gangapur lake was pristine. The clean water, fresh air, chirping birds make this place quite a romantic sunset spot. We went to swim in the lake on both the evenings we stayed here. If you do get your hands on a row boat, you should try rowing across the lake as well!

On the other side of the lake were the vineyards, Sula and York. We visited both of them and got to taste delicious varieties of wines!

Florican and Owlet

We had the pleasure of visiting Gangapur, thanks to a wonderful Airbnb hosted by a nature lover & conservationist (of course :D). The listings were named after two endangered bird species, Florican and Owlet ( so thoughtful!).

Florican — beautiful room that didn’t feel like a confinement

A few hours drive from Mumbai, this place feels light years away. The Gangapur lake was stone’s throw away behind this place.

View of lake and hills, right behind this place

If you have a weekend and a car to spare from Mumbai, you should definitely get here to wind down.

Happy travelling!

I visited this place in April, 2018. The recommended time would be between November to February.
