20 December, 2016: We successfully closed the campaign on the September 19th! Thank you to everyone who invested and supported us through the process. You’re the absolute best! ❤

Dmitry from Thought-Wired here. It’s been a long time since our last newsletter and a tonne of things have happened but we’ll keep this one relatively short.

The most exciting piece of news is that we’re about to launch a PledgeMe Equity Crowdfunding campaign!

Be part of our journey

Through PledgeMe you can come on board as an investor in Thought-Wired and be part of our mission to make the world a more accessible place for everyone.

> Want to know how it works? Check out the PledgeMe Equity site for all the details.

If you’re thinking of investing, it’s a good idea to register on the PledgeMe site in advance, so you’re good to go when we launch on August 17. We’re looking for a minimum investment of $500 and our goal is to raise at least $200,000 through this campaign.

Why we need investors

Our software, nous™, has been steadily going through development and testing cycles and we’re very happy with how it’s progressing. We need investors to help us get nous™ to market and into the hands of the people who need it.

What we’ve been up to

We’ve been through a fantastic accelerator programme (Oct 2014 — Apr 2015) for social enterprise start-ups, run by the Akina Foundation. We refined the value proposition of nous™, our customer targeting, the business plan, and successfully worked through technical roadblocks with Akina’s support.

In 2015 we secured a Callaghan Innovation grant for further development of nous™ and conducted testing with 18 participants. We’ve made nous™ simpler, cheaper and easier to learn. Sometimes roadblocks are good things!

We also continued distributing brain-sensing devices. You may remember from the last update, we introduced Muse: the brain sensing headband to New Zealand and Australia. We later added the BrainLink Lite headband from Macrotellect to our range. These activities helped keep us afloat while we work on nous™.

Finally, we’re very happy to have entered into an arrangement with Hobsonville Point Secondary School. It is one of the most progressive and innovative schools in the country. We help their students and staff by sharing our expertise and assist with some of their projects and in return, we get to use their amazing space as our office.

What next?

We’re pushing to get version one of nous™ released into the hands of at least half a dozen committed users making it work for them in the real world. Our aim is to get there within 6 months of successfully completing the PledgeMe crowdfunding campaign.

> We’ll be sharing frequent updates leading up to and during the PledgeMe campaign, so make sure you register your interest on our website!

Thank you for your interest in our work!

Please continue to support us by following us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Share our updates with your network through these channels to help us spread the word about nous™.

Thank you and stay tuned,

Dmitry and the Thought-Wired Team
