Greetings, music lovers!

December means it’s time for all the best of the year lists to roll in. And while it’s always fun to see who tops the charts for the year (especially at KEXP, the greatest radio station on the planet), lists of albums can get a little uninteresting. Most of us come to Medium because we want to hear the stories behind the picks, right?

At least, we do.

So your December 2023 writing assignment is: Tell us your top three of 2023. Your top three what is up to you.

Perhaps you want to share your top three live shows, or your top three favorite songs. Maybe it’s the top three older artists you only just discovered in 2023? Or did you learn to play a new instrument, or meet a favorite rock star? We want to hear the top three ways in which music moved you this year, in whatsoever combination you choose.

Get creative. Get weird. Get imaginary.

And make sure tag your submissions with “Top 3” so we can find and display them on our homepage.
