Summer Writing Prompt for Three Imaginary Girls: Summer Music

Live shows, favorite summer jams — what music adventures have you been on this summer (or in summers past)?

It’s summertime!

Well, almost. At the time that I’m writing this, it’s June 2, so summer is within reach, and the prospects look glorious. Summer jams mixed tapes! Outdoor music festivals! Traveling to see shows!

I’m giddy with anticipation about it all.

I just went to my first outdoor show of the season, where I saw Sarah McLachlan play at an outdoor winery. She’s touring the 30th anniversary of her glorious release Fumbling Toward Ecstasy, and I have no idea how but her face and voice haven’t aged a single minute. If she’s coming anywhere near you, don’t miss it.

The night was grey and cold, so it didn’t feel like a summer show… yet. But I know those days are coming.

So the Three Imaginary Girls writing prompt is Summer Music. We’re going to keep this prompt for the next three months, as it will be apt, and we are feeling like taking a little bit of an editorial vacation. It’s just one less thing to think about, and we know you’re all going to have ongoing adventures that won’t be completed in June, right? Right!

We can’t wait to read your stories. Please tag them with “Summer Music” so we can find them and share them.

XOXOXOXO,
Dana DuBois and Imaginary Liz
