Welcome to Threshold Time — a digest of some of the most newsworthy and exciting developments of Threshold Network, which formed from the Keep and NuCypher network merger in January. You are receiving this because you subscribed to email updates for NuCypher or Keep.

NETWORK UPDATES

Staking went live on April 1st (no fooling)!

We are already beginning to see an increase in stakers, and the Total Value Locked (TVL) now exceeds $295 million. Staking is a critical part of our network. By staking, token holders help power the Threshold Network — and earn rewards while doing so. If you have not yet staked your tokens, check out the how-to video here and then head over to the Threshold dashboard.

Threshold DAO is transitioning to on-chain governance.

This represents a major milestone for our DAO and will introduce several big changes to our governance system. The rewards mint proposal will be the first Threshold proposal to be posted for voting through Governor Bravo. Note: once on-chain governance begins, you must choose a delegate (can be your own address) in order to vote. Blog post on that process is here.

Threshold Network’s “Learn & Earn” campaign on Binance launches in May.
Keep your eyes on Threshold’s blog for more details in the coming days.

Threshold token is live on CoinList.

In 2020, CoinList users locked $54M in the NuCypher WorkLock on CoinList. This week, citing the historic protocol merger of NuCypher and Keep, CoinList announced that T token trading and conversions from NU to T are now live.

We need YOUR feedback on this newsletter.

Please take 60 seconds to fill out this survey. Since it will help the Marketing Guild provide readers with the content they need, before we send out the next edition of the newsletter, we will select 10 respondents and reward each of them with 250 Threshold (T) tokens.

POAP art has many uses. The above illustrates how it’s nice to break up the text in a newsletter. Attendees of our April community-wide call got this POAP!

UPDATE ON THRESHOLD DAO

Threshold hits EFDevconnect

Members of the Keep and NuCypher teams headed to Amsterdam to participate in workshops and do some hacking at this week-long gathering of independent events. This was the first face-to-face meeting for many Threshodlers, and they instantly hit it off.

The Threshold team kicked off the week at EFDevconnect by hosting the “Building Web3 Infrastructure Protocols on Ethereum” workshop alongside The Graph and Livepeer.

A few Threshold Community members checked in from ZKsummit, including Viktor Bunin of Coinbase Cloud (formerly Bison Trails) and Tux Pacific, until recently a NuCypher dev and now the CEO of Entropy.

Finally, NuCypher’s culinary arts graduate Justin Myles Holmes livened up the festivities in Amsterdam by filling the air with special tunes. And then he wrapped the party up with one last epic performance (sans flute)!

First Threshold Bounties Posted on Layer3

The Threshold DAO has posted its first 3 bounties on the Layer3 contest board! This is an excellent opportunity for community members to earn Threshold (T) tokens by contributing to the DAO in a meaningful way. Your opportunities for earning include connecting the dots with other DAOs, helping educate Twitter users about Threshold and, of course, getting your meme action on.

Threshold Embassy’s First Twitter Space Event

Threshold Embassy is actively working to connect with other DAOs and Web3 projects in order to establish meaningful relationships and partnerships. We are pleased to announce that the Embassy will be co-hosting its first Twitter Space event on Tuesday, May 10th at 12PM EST with Layer3! Stay tuned for more details and news on future Threshold Embassy events.

COMMUNITY CREATIONS (OH, SO THRESHOLD!)

Threshold’s Marketing Guild has been busy keeping the community updated and the content flowing on Twitter:

Threshold is a DAO!

And the first meme submitted to “The Meme Party at Threshold” contest on Layer3 gives a good chuckle!

“MEET THE TEAM” INTERVIEW

To supplement this newsletter and give the Threshold Community greater insight into the talented and passionate people creating and supporting this groundbreaking technology, The Threshold Marketing Guild has begun a series of interviews with members of the Keep and NuCypher teams. Our second interview (with Sasha Tanase, Head of Design Research at Keep) was recently published here. Check it out and let us know whom you’d like us to interview next.
