2014 Royal Enfield Rider Mania concludes

Vagator Hilltop in Goa had become the rendezvous for the 2014 Royal Enfield Rider Mania attracting over 5000 participants. The annual pilgrimage of enthusiastic RE riders and likeminded people, gathered at Vagator last weekend spending time in competitive activities and music events.

The biggest ever Rider Mania conducted, based on the number of people gathered, saw participants turning up in their special race-tuned motorcycles to slug it out on a dusty, uneven race track in the Dirt Track race. British motorcycle racer Guy Martin won the 500cc category, while Rohan Patil and Urvashi Patole won in 350cc catgegory and ladies category, respectively.

A platform to showcase custom motorcycles, the best custom bike in the Judges category, was won by Gunner 540 from Bulleteer Customs, while in the Most Popular category (which is based on the number of votes) Squadron from Road Rage Customs was the winner. Apart from the competitive activities, Jonathan Gibson who is currently riding from Sydney to London on a 1969 Royal Enfield motorcycle, shared his experiences on riding motorcycles across the world at the Long Distance Riders Forum. Popular fusion band Swarathma and Nucleya conducted their shows in the evening which added flavour to the motorcycling extravaganza.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Sachin Chavan, Head-Rides and Community Royal Enfield said, “Rider Mania has come to symbolize the motorcycling culture in the country. Every year, we see more people taking up motorcycling in their own cities and riding down to Goa for Rider Mania to experience the camaraderie among people that share a common passion for the Royal Enfield way of motorcycling at its purest. The attendance at this festival has grown over the years, 2014 saw over 5000 participants converging from across India, spending three days of music, mirth and odd riding skills”
