2015 Ducati Multistrada: Gallery & specs
The 2015 Ducati Multistrada 1200 is out. And it is all new! According to Ducati, their flagship adventure sport motorcycle is built new from the ground up and save for the looks, is completely fresh. The freshness comes from design tweaks done to achieve a sharper look, while maintaining the original silhouette. The front beak has been re-shaped and now incorporates larger air vents. The new headlamps are all LED units with a Cornering function.
At the heart is the latest iteration of the Testastretta 1198cc V-twin engine that features Desmodromic valve timing, with dual spark ignition. These help increase the claimed horsepower to 160bhp at 9500rpm, up 10bhp from its predecessor.
To harness this power, there is an all-new chassis in place with Inertial Measurement Unit (seen on the 1299 Panigale) which helps deliver inputs for the Traction Control and Stability Control systems. Electronic gizmos like Bosch MSC ‘cornering ABS’, Ducati Skyhook suspension (DSS), Cruise control, keyless ignition, Ducati Traction Control (DTC), Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC), Ducati multimedia system and D/Air system make the Multistrada an extremely capable motorcycle.
The Ducati Multistrada 1200 will be available in five variants: Sport, Touring, Enduro, Urban, and the D-Air, which is only slated for Europe.
