After an action-packed launch edition, the Force Gurkha Rainforest Challenge will be back next year, with the second edition taking place in Goa from July 24 to 31, 2015. Force Motors will continue to be the title sponsor for the 2015 edition of the RFC as well. First launched in Malaysia in 1997, the Rainforest Challenge has been hosted by Italy, Australia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Tunisia, and China.

Known to be among the world’s toughest races, the event was brought into the country by Delhi-based Cougar Moptorsport. Held in Goa between August 8 and 14, the six-day event saw 22 teams competing in four legs — the Prologue, the Predator, the Terminator and the Twilight Zone, completing 24 Special Stages (SS) specially designed by RFC International track experts.

After a hard fought battle, Force Motor’s team secured a one-two finish at the 2014 RFC, while Kabir Waraich, and co-driver Gagan Sachdeva of Gerrari Off-Roaders Chandigarh, emerged third. The event also saw many off-road enthusiasts becoming a part of the action as touring adventurers.

Speaking about the event, Ashish Gupta, Founder and Director of Cougar Motorsport, said, “The blood and sweat of many people made Force Gurkha RFC India 2014 a success. The event took off-roading in India to an altogether different platform. Indian off roaders leap frogged the 16 years over which the event has been held in Malaysia to come out at par with the best of driving skill and vehicle preparation. Encouraged by the response, we decided to bring this international event back to India once again. Now that Indian off-roaders are aware of what to expect at RFC India, our aim for the 2015 edition will be to make the challenges a lot tougher. I am hoping to see many more people coming forward to compete in the upcoming edition. I am sure that the domestic teams will be fully prepared for the challenges in store and will give the international competitors a really tough competition.”

Prasan Firodia, Managing Director Force Motors said, “Force Motors is pleased to continue its association with RFC India in its second year. We see this association as a great platform to display the Force Gurkha’s extreme off-roading capabilities. We look forward to an even greater participation of off roaders from India and abroad for Force Gurkha RFC India 2015 to be an even bigger success.”
