While this one won’t make it to India, internationally, Porsche has launched the second generation of the 911 Carrera GTS with 424bhp from the same 3.8-litre flat-six engine. Available in 4WD and rear-wheel drive, in coupe and convertible body styles, the 911 Carrera GTS gets same same kind of external treatment previous GTS models (read Boxster and Cayman) get.

All four models will have the wider body from the 911 Carrera 4, with flared rear arches and a wider track. Also standard are new 20-inch alloy wheels, painted in matt black. The front gets special trim elements and smoked bi-xenon headlights, while the rear comes with black strips on the air intake screen and black chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes. On the inside, besides the new Alcantara leather seen on everywhere including the seats, dashboard, and roof, there aren’t any significant changes.

The 3.8-litre engine is mated to Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch auto ‘box enabling a 0–100kmph time of 4.0 seconds for the GTS Coupe, 0.2 seconds faster than the convertible. Each 911 Carrera GTS model will be able to breach the 300kmph mark though the fastest of the lot is the GTS Coupe with a manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, which reaches 306kmph. Each one of the new models comes equipped with Porsche’s Sport Chrono package and the PASM active damper system which lowers the car’s ride height by 10 mm. The sport exhaust that comes standard with GTS models promises to deliver that Porsche sound.
