Just before the Czech manufacturer’s luxury sedan will debut in Prague tomorrow, Skoda has released some teaser images of the new Superb. A few exterior details are the subject of the images, hinting at the new Superb’s design.

2016 Skoda Superb teaser

The first two images shows the clear crystal-like headlamps which make it look quite sharp, especially with LED DRLs, and the sharp contoured lines of the bonnet, which continue to the rear. The headlights are modeled after the Bohemian tradition of glass art and they do give the car a distinctive look. Skoda’s flagship sedan has been designed with the motto ‘A fine finish right down to the smallest detail’, and is meant to be more striking and contoured than the current Superb currently on sale. The grille is typical Skoda fare though it looks like it has more rake.

From the top-view image, it seems like the new Superb has slightly more bulk at the rear, focused around the rear wheel arches giving the sedan a sportier style. Though the car does look a little sportier from this angle, there is something rather Audi-ish about it.

Besides the teaser images, this is what we know about the new Skoda Superb:

1. It’ll probably have the same engines as the current Superb, though in a slightly higher state of tune, and delivering better fuel economy

2. It is based on the same MQB chassis as the Volkswagen Passat

3. Skoda’s flagship will face-off against the VW Passat, Toyota’s Camry and the Honda Accord

4. It will come to India sometime late this year

We will have to wait till tomorrow for more information. Stay tuned.
