All-new Honda compact SUV to debut at New York Auto Show
We were expecting to see Honda’s Vezel at the Auto Expo in Delhi but we got a futuristic looking concept instead: the Vision XS-1. The Vezel was considered a rather expensive proposition for India, being based on the larger and higher-priced Jazz platform. This led Honda to showcase the Vision XS-1, a compact SUV sharing the cheaper Brio/Amaze underpinnings and platform.
However, the upcoming New York Auto Show taking place between April 18 and 27, will see the Japanese manufacture bring an all-new compact SUV which may be the US-specced Vezel. No specific information has been officially released but based on previous reports, the Vezel will probably be called the HR-V in the US.
No powertrain information has been revealed by Honda, but we expect the HR-V to be powered by a four-pot 1.5-litre 130bhp engine. More information about the car will be available after the 18th when Honda will showcase the 2015 Fit and the next-generation of ASIMO along with the new compact SUV.
