Audi India has had a very good financial year as we can infer from its sales reports. Not only did they achieve the highest sales for March 2014 (1,404 units), the German manufacturer managed to attain the highest sales for the previous quarter (2,740 units) and the highest ever financial year sales (10,126 units). In reaching this milestone, Audi India has the honour of being the first luxury manufacturer in India to cross the 10,000 units mark in terms of annual sales.

Year-on-year growth rates are very positive as sales grew 18 per cent in March 2014 compared to March 2013. For the second year in a row, Audi topped the sales charts selling an additional 186 units during the Jan-March 2014 quarter over nearest rival Mercedes-Benz.

Audi A3 Sedan

Since March 2013, Audi has decisively brought some of their best cars into the country including the powerful RS7, the refreshed A8L with the now famous Matrix headlamps and the budget edition Q3 S. The A3 sedan will also make its way to India before the end of the year catering to the same class of people who want to buy the BMW 1 Series or the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. If priced in the Rs 25–30 lakh bracket, the A3 sedan will probably outsell its rivals due to the fact that it has a larger boot. The introduction of the A3 sedan into the market is based on Audi’s plan to continue the onslaught of introducing new cars in the country.
