Audi India launches limited edition R8 LMX

Audi India kick-started their 2015 operations with the launch of the R8 LMX limited edition. Priced at Rs 2.97crore, the R8 LMX reclaims the throne of the most powerful as well as the fastest road-car in their stable. It is also the first car in India to feature laser high beam lighting, tech similar to the BMW i8 which is yet to reach Indian stores..

The Audi R8 LMX use all LED headlamps up to 60kmph after which the laser lights are activated. The high-power laser diodes generate a blue laser beam while a phosphor converter transforms it into roadworthy white light. The lights in harmony with camera based sensor system detect oncoming traffic and adjust the light pattern to avoid dazzle.

This is a limited edition with only 99 vehicles manufactured globally. The R8 LMX sports a mid‑mounted 5.2-litre, V10 engine and now develops 562bhp of power and 540Nm of torque mated to seven-speed S tronic transmission with power transfered to all four wheels via the quattro permanent all‑wheel drive system. The supercar accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds making it the fastest as well as the most powerful Audi R8 ever. It has a top speed of 320 kmph. The R8 LMX also boast of carbon ceramic brake discs which sits behind 19-inch exclusive designer wheels.
