It hasn’t even been a month since Bajaj launched the fully-faired Pulsar, the RS 200, and now, the Indian manufacturer has launched a new range of adventure sport bikes based on the Pulsar, the AS 150 priced at Rs 79,000, and the AS 200 which costs Rs 91,500, ex-showroom Delhi.

The AS models aren’t radically different compared to the naked 200 NS with only a half-fairing, inspired seemingly from the Discover 150F, to differentiate between the two. The rest of the cycle bits including the seat, panels, the swingarm, and suspension are shared.

In the mechanical department, the AS 200 gets the 200 NS’s carburetted 199.5cc single that produces 23.2bhp and 18.3Nm, and comes mated to a six-speed transmission. Its 16.76bhp 150cc sibling will get the same mechanicals, if slightly updated ones, found on the standard Pulsar 150.

These adventure tourers use a pressed steel perimeter frame which Bajaj claims, will be stiff and have low-flex aiding handling. The suspension setup is telescopic forks at the front and a Nitrox mono suspension at the rear. Stopping power on the AS 200 is provided by a 280mm disc up front and a 230 mm disc at the rear, though ABS isn’t offered.
