The first edition of the ‘Bike Festival of India’, also expected to be South East Asia’s largest biking festival will be hosted this year. An initiative of Event Capital and Rhiti Sports, the event has been conceptualised by Vikram Shankar, VP of Event Capital and Ikjot Singh, a superbike rider. The fest kicks off with a month-long cross-country ride that will pass through every state in the country in the first quarter of the year, and is expected to get a mention in the Guinness Book of World Records for the numbers involved. It will be followed by a racing championship at the Buddh International Circuit, a dirt bike championship and a rally championship. The festival will culminate in a grand finale at the BIC in October. Prior to the finale the festival will also feature stunt riding competitions, group rides and a host of other activities. The announcement was made by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who is a passionate biker himself. The BFI is expected to bring together over 120 biking communities from across the nation, which is a record of sorts.
