The face-lifted BMW 320d sports sedan was launched in India today. BMW has made minor changes in the 3-series and it is available only with a diesel motor, with the petrol variant following later in 2016. The BMW 320d runs on a TwinPower turbo-diesel engine generating 190hp and 400Nm of torque, slightly higher than the outgoing model. Acceleration is a brisk 7.2 seconds to 100 km/h, going on to a 230km/h top speed.

The facelift is literal here, with the new 3-series coming with new LED headlights, LED DRLs and LED fog lights. The headlamps taper into the traditional kidney grille, as has become common across the BMW range. This is the most evident feature of the 2016 model.

The rest of the car is equipped as you’d expect from a BMW. There’s Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, driving modes including ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

Other features include BMW ConnectedDrive and BMW iDrive (the on-board Driver Information system), BMW Apps, Radio BMW Professional, Park Distance Control, Connectivity through Bluetooth and USB devices and The BMW Navigation system Professional (integrated Global Positioning System-GPS), with an 8.8 inch high-resolution display which is available in Sports Line, Luxury Line and M Sport.

The M sport 3-series is also available in the Estoril Blue metallic colour, exclusive to this variant. The M Sport includes the M aerodynamic package, an M leather steering wheel, front sports seats and an additional Sport+ mode, but not much else in terms of performance, we’re afraid.

The ex-showroom prices for the diesel variants are as follows:

BMW 320d Prestige: Rs 35,90,000
BMW 320d Sport Line (Navigation): Rs 41,50,000
BMW 320d Luxury Line (Navigation): Rs 41,50,000
BMW 320d M Sport: Rs 44,50,000
