General Motors India has announced the launch of a special edition version of their entry-level hatchback, the Chevrolet Spark. While GM India hasn’t revealed exactly how many units this special edition is limited to, they have priced the Spark Limited Edition between Rs 3.44 to 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

On the outside, the limited edition Spark can be differenciated from the standard model thanks to dual-tone bumpers in the front and rear, chrome touches on the grille and fog lamp cluster, outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn signals, side body graphics in two colours and Limited Edition badging. The limited edition Spark can be dressed in seven colours, Summit White, Sandrift Grey, Misty Lake Metallic, Switchblade Silver, Velvet Red, Linen Beige and Caviar Black.

The interiors also get spruced up with a steering wheel cover, matching neck rests, ambient foot-well lighting, beige seat covers with red stripes and carpet floor mats.

The mechanical bits remain unchanged and the Spark Limited Edition comes with the same four-pot, 995cc petrol mill developing 62bhp at 5400rpm and 90Nm of torque at 4200rpm, mated to a five-speed manual ‘box. GM India claims that the SMARTECH technology incorporated in the engine delivers a claimed fuel efficiency of 16.2kmpl.

“The stylish, frugal and spacious city car with superior SMARTECH engine technology appeals to all aspirational first-time buyers and young nuclear families across India,” said Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director of GM India. “With the launch of another limited edition model with more features, GM India has sought to exceed the expectations of its customers,” Mr Saxena added.
