Datsun GO+ MPV launched at Rs 3.96 ex-Mumbai
We’ve seen it before at various auto shows, we’ve learned that you can pre-book it for Rs 11,000, and we’ve gone all the way to Rishikesh to review it. Nissan’s budget brand, Datsun, has launched its sub-4-metre compact MPV (seating 7) today and prices starting at Rs 3.96 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai.
Like the hatchback version the Go+ will also sell in four variants.
Go+ D- Rs 3,96, 213 lakh
Go+ D1 — Rs 3,98,923 lakh
Go+ A — Rs 4,33,264 lakh
Go+ T — Rs 4,81,456 lakh
While the GO hatchback (launched at Rs 3.14 lakh) didn’t bring the sales that the Japanese brand looked for, they hope that the GO+ will succeed where its hatchback sibling failed. The fact that Global NCAP said the car isn’t safe probably led to a certain amount of stigma and we shall have to wait and see if the compact MPV will suffer from the same. There are some concerns in the industry as to whether the GO+, especially due to the additional weight at the rear, will endure the same amount of scrutiny about its safety.
The GO+ doesn’t really have a direct competitor as it is completely niche, though to a certain degree, it could grab a part of the Rs 6.4 lakh, sub-4-metre, Mahindra Quanto.
